Patan city

Patan is also known as Lalitpur-the city of fine art and architecture is said to be one of the oldest and most beautiful medieval cities of the world. The city is full of Hindu temples and Buddhist Monuments.

Patan Durbar Square is situated in the heart of the city. The square is full of ancient palaces, temples and shrines. The main attraction of Patan Durbar Square is the ancient Royal Palace itself. It consists of three main Chowks (courtyards) the central Mul Chowk, Sundari Chowk and Mani Keshab Narayan Chowk. The Sundari Chowk holds in its center a masterpiece of stone architecture, the Royal Bath called Tushahity. Another main attraction of the Durbar Square is its Museum, which specializes, in bronze statues and religious objects.
