Changu Narayan

Lying about 6km North from Bhaktapur, Changu Narayan is one of the seven World Heritage Sites located in the valley. It is named after the shrine called Changu Narayan, the oldest known temple in Kathmandu Valley. The most ancient and precious samples of then stone sculptures can be seen scattered around the temple, which was built by King Mandev in 464 A.D. The walking trail from here to Nagarkot is one of the popular hiking trails among tourists. From Changu Narayan a very clear and beautiful view of Kathmandu Valley can be observed.
